August 22, 2016I’m NOT going to sound like B.B. King?! Then forget it, I’ll try the piano!

April 8, 2017Who are you not going to sound like when you play the piano?
Sadly, none us is B.B.King!…..and I’m probably more unlike Mr. King than most people!
We’d better get over it and enjoy playing like us…..B.B. might like it!

August 22, 2016Aloha Griff, I’ve been playing Bass for 49 years now and decided to learn how to play guitar. I bought your course and enjoy your approach and teaching style. The 4 note video was so helpful to sounding better immediately and the track was so cool to try different things. Thanks for the emails and support. Aloha, Mike F

August 22, 2016I have just confirmed that I actually downloaded these past videos . There is so many good things I can now finally see and has answered alot of questions . Have been wondering how to switch from a minor to a major sound. I can remember a e;mail when You said You as a student are more likely already doing this and really dont know what your doing . This is so true but to actually know what your doing. Yes some ideas for learning do not always work for every one . I have been here quite a while and learned plenty ,but, this worked for Me . I guess That You will be talking about Your House pattern next and how this applies maybe I should go and try that . Mainly because the King used it and many others.

August 22, 2016Brilliant stuff Grif
I love how you make ten years of heartache and hard work for me suddenly make sense!
This is the one ‘secret’ everybody really needs with the blues
So simple but so effective
I love my mail box in the mornings
Thanks to you it has become my blues box!

August 22, 2016Griff mentioned using the major 3rd only over the 1 chord. So, as I’m practicing, I am trying the major 3rd as I resolve back to the 1. Basically on the second beat as I begin again on bar one. Is that right? Anywhere else, say at the end of bar 4 that I should be trying?

August 23, 2016Hi Griff, I think this is the best set of lessons you have ever done. The main point that you made was making MUSIC. I’m a retired person, but during the first ten years of my adult life, apart from making a living as a sound engineer my passion became playing in a band, writing songs and playing the guitar, which started on the banjo mandoIin at the tender age of 11.
I did seem to have a talent for music. My guitar teacher taught me me several Hank B Marvin tunes and chord shapes, only for me to find out later about Bar chords. Now that my dog doesn’t bark when I play Guitar I’m back into it.
Wish we had the lessons you give, like 6 string bar chords are rarely used in a band situation. But in those days we enjoyed the noise, good exercise for the fingers.
But after many demo tapes and gigs, my question to people whose opioion I respected was “does it sound like Music”
Making MUSIC, J J Cale, always comes out of nowhere in a solo, does he play boxes or just notes out of his head connected to his fingers.
What’s your opinion Griff.

August 26, 2016These three lessons were eye openers for me. I was there in my natural progression of blues soloing over A but did not know why. Now I can transpose this to any key!
Darn, I was late and missed the 40% off!

December 21, 2020This is really cool stuff. Very easy to relate to. And reflects the theory of it all. Never would have thought of it in this way. So simple. Thanks Griff

December 22, 2020Only over the one cord . The major tweak . This is like getting on with things. Like You said one will not sound like the artist You are copying .Just like the original studio recording which is not likely that artist did that recording . Further still a band will not actually perform a tune exactly like the studio recording . There are exceptions but few can do it . So I wonder when You first talked and showed the major tweak dude.
